What 5-axis makes possible

A Benchy boat printed sideways without supports

No supports

The part tilts and turns under the nozzle, so overhangs print as walls. This Benchy was printed sideways with no supports.

A 5-axis printed drone frame

Stronger parts

Toolpaths follow the shape of the part instead of flat layers, putting strength where the loads are.

A 5-axis printed intake duct in nylon carbon fiber

Engineering materials

A 300 °C hotend and a 100 °C bed for nylon carbon fiber and other engineering filaments. Add the enclosure for the materials that need it.

Flexible TPU boots printed by spinning on the rotary axis

Prints that spin

Round parts print concentrically on the rotary axis, like this CV boot in flexible TPU. Curved surfaces come out smooth, not stair-stepped.

Five axes, one desktop printer

Everything a regular 3D printer does, plus a nozzle that tilts and a bed that turns.

135°
Pivoting nozzle. Reaches overhangs from the side, so they print without supports.
360°
Continuous rotating bed. Turns the part under the nozzle, so curved surfaces come out smooth.
XYZ
Linear motion. The same X, Y and Z movement as a regular printer, working with the two extra axes.

Kit, fully assembled, and the enclosure

Kit

Every part to build the full printer yourself, with step-by-step guides.

Fully assembled

Built and tested by us, ready to print on day one.

Enclosure

An enclosed build chamber for engineering materials. Priced separately: we confirm it by email before charging for it.

Both builds are the same desktop-sized printer: a 200 × 200 mm build volume (diameter × height) and filaments from PLA and PETG to TPU, PC and PA-CF.

Runs straight from Unlayered Slicer

Unlayered Slicer slices in every direction, not just in flat layers, and it's free for Windows and macOS. The Unlayered Agent sets up the print for you: ask for “no supports” and it changes the settings. The same slicer works with Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Voron and Klipper printers too.

How reserving works

  1. Pay the $100 deposit with PayPal. It holds a printer for you in the next production batch.
  2. Tell us your build. Kit or fully assembled, and whether you want the enclosure, in the PayPal note. If you leave it out, we email you to ask.
  3. We email you before it ships. We confirm your build and any add-ons, and collect the balance.
  4. Your printer ships. Until then, the deposit is fully refundable.

Questions

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes, fully, until your printer ships. Email info@unlayered3d.com and we'll refund it.

Why is it sold out?

Our current machines are all spoken for. Reserving puts you in the next production batch, and we email you before your printer ships.

Can I change my build after reserving?

Yes. We confirm the build and add-ons with you by email before collecting the balance, so until then you can switch between kit and fully assembled, or add or drop the enclosure.

Which filaments can it print?

PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PC and PA-CF (nylon carbon fiber), with a nozzle up to 300 °C and a bed up to 100 °C. Add the enclosure for the materials that need it.

What software do I need?

Unlayered Slicer, which is free. It works out the tilting and turning for you.
