OrcaSlicer, upgraded
Looking for an OrcaSlicer alternative usually means you want something OrcaSlicer can't do, without losing what it does well. Unlayered Slicer is an OrcaSlicer fork: same interface, profiles and calibration tools, plus non-planar and 5-axis slicing, wave overhangs and fewer multicolor filament swaps.
What stays the same
Everything the OrcaSlicer project built: the workflow; printer, filament and process profiles for Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Voron and Klipper; calibration prints for flow, pressure advance, temperature, retraction and max volumetric speed; scarf seams, tree supports, variable layer height and multi-plate projects.
What Unlayered adds
Non-planar slicing on your current printer
Layers curve along the load path through the part, within your toolhead's clearance, so fewer layer boundaries cross the load. Non-planar slicing.
Wave overhangs
The toolpath grows a flat overhang outward from its supported edge, so 90° overhangs print without supports. Printing without supports.
Fewer filament swaps on multicolor prints
Printing in planes reduces how many swaps have to happen, so an AMS or multi-material setup purges less. Reducing filament waste.
Plus tools aimed at print speed and part strength, and 5-axis toolpaths for multi-axis printers.
Switching over
Pick your printer from the same profile list, and import custom profiles exported from OrcaSlicer. It is in beta, so keep OrcaSlicer installed until you've moved everything.
